Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress. She is known for her roles in TV and film in the 1980s, she has received various accolades including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett is born in New York New York. She was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett, her mother and sister moved into St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was just five. Their father had separated from their mom. When she was in high school Bassett was a spectator of John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actor. In 1980, Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with an undergraduate degree in African American studies. She also received a degree from The Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a co-actor and they married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1980. Graduate in Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (7th grade), Azalea Middle School (8th and 9th grades), Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett has been cast in one the leading roles of Ramonda for the action adventure film, i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
